Hari raya with us Part II

The second day of raya, my dad and his siblings held a mini family gathering.. I can say, it was a very successful event. Ramai sangat cousins yg datang and everyone was just so excited! They even loved our rendangs and Dodol!! ahah! Tapi, that very night, we headed back to Kuantan. My grandmother in Kuantan dah siap buat nasi dagang! huhuh.. Tapi suma org puas hati.:)

We werent able to stay longer in Kuantan coz, my bro inlaw whose wife had just given birth were already waiting. So, late saturday friday afternoon, we said our goodbyes to those in Kuantan, and headed back to Ajil. Sampai-sampai je, Ma prepared a kuali off meehun goreng! aaah. sedap. and their neighbours pulak ada barbeque. so we sent them some meehun and meratah ayam bakar. sedaps!! We stayed in Terengganu until monday. Visited my husband's grandmother who lives in Kampung Jerung, Marang. Memang rumah Papan. Dah lama xmasuk rumah papan macam tu. :) and then went to visit to his aunts' houses. best. I got a kain batik as a wedding gift. huhuhu. i have alot now and i can wear kain batik successfully! huhuhu. Played with husband's little niece, Iman. She can already walk by then. Hurmm.. rindu budak kecik tu. After spending 3 nights in Ajil, we headed back to KL on Monday afternoon. Singgah sebentar di Kuantan, again. and at 11pm, we headed back to kl. for real. hehehe.

All in all, i'd say it is one of the best raya i have ever experienced. I am Glad and most Grateful to Allah for all the blessings. Alhamdulillah. I am looking forward to many more Ramadhans and Syawal with my husband and insyaAllah, our children in the near future. ameen. So, to all those who reads my blog (kalau ada) Eid Mubarak from both of us! Sekian.

Hari Raya with Us

Hari Raya this year is different and the most meaningful Raya for me. Almaklumla.. this is my first Eid as a wife. So far, Alhamdulillah.. we had no problem in deciding whose side first for our first eid. *bukan queen control ye! Reason being is, my fathers parents are very-very old, and they are about to sell the house off after raya. Since husband has never experienced raya in Negeri Sembilan, we decided to grab the last offer! justified kan?

It was all good from the journey to Senaling to every thing that happened after that. We reached Senaling early tuesday morning. Chop2 bilik and all. the boys bergelimpangan kat luar *inc. husband. huhu.the very morning, my cousins and us helped my old grandmother prepare 3 types of rendang. He helped to jaga the rendang, went to kedai *gomok, helped maklang to clear some shrubs.. me? i helped with the rendang jugak la. Later, we went to Gedung Sri Minang in KP to get husband seluar rumah. coz i didnt pack any for him. *haku terlupa!! sempat la dia muncung kejap.:) owh and the ultimate event for the day was when all of the cucu's of Hj Basirun decided that we SHOULD have penganan or famously known as DODOL. yes.

We 'perah-ed' 5 rounds of kelapa parut, each besen containing 6 biji parutan kelapa. Imagine~~ The funny part was, husband and cousins lelaki did help too, only to be condemned by my 81 year old grandmother.."aiyooo hai.. Tangan bosar-bosar.. Santan eee manooo?!" We rolled on the floor laughing. We had a great time! The whole process to make a superb-tasting dodol took us only 4 hours. By 1 am, we were done. By 3 am, zzzzzzzzzzz........

EIDULFITR

Got up early, prepare ourselves for eid prayer. Kami memang sempat membaham ketupat dan kuah kacang, and lemang with the oooh-so sedap rendang before we went for our eid prayer. By 10, we were done, and the house was soooooo riuuuhh!! We had salam-salam and photo-taking session. Dalam gembira-gembira tu, adalah kejadian yang tidak di-ingini. My dad's DSLR fell on the floor. ooh. But, it was alot of fun. It was a happy day. that night itself, husband and i, together with our cousins, went to have char kuey teow.. after too much of lemang, rendang, kuah kacang that is. Poning palo den!

okay, yang Part II akan bersambung. enjoy the pictures..

my first attempt!

husband's new experience making ketupat nasi. In Terengganu, they make ketupat Palas

Dodol making process. Basuh kawah dengan daun keludup (senduduk)
Angkat dodol dengan pelepah pisang

MAJLIS BERSALAM-SALAMAN
thats us. Atuk nangis. :'( but its our turn to give them duit raya.:)

Tupperware

So, yesterday i became an official authorized dealer for the brand Tupperware. Yeah.
hihihi. Husband was surprised at first. *i guess that That would never cross his mind. I asked him then, "Do u give me the permission to do this?" His replied was "as long as i am your number 1 priority, of course i will allow you to do it. Jangan abaikan abang sudah.."

Anyways.. To all of you, i dont have a sales blog at the moment. You can always go to their website, here. For products inquiry, you can always ask me. One thing you have to bear in mind.. The brand Tupperware offers lifetime warranty for its products. If your tupperware lid terkoyak *this usually happens after many years.. you can always get a replacement (but you must bring the ones thats damaged for proof). I can always help you with that. :)

TT

To be honest really, meeting up with a group of total strangers can be quite scary. But, it can be quite interesting. Yesterday, husband took me to join a group of strangers whose passion are cars. Proton Persona to be exact. It was really a fun new experience for both of us.

TT or Tea Time (oops.. silap. It is Teh Tarik. Husband texted me with many exclamation marks for that!huhuhu), as what they call it, began by gathering up at Point A and then they will move in the group to Point B, or C or D (kalau ada la). Last night, we started off at McD's seksyen 22 Shah Alam. It was fun really. there were all together 50 Personas parked infront of McD's yesterday, and obviously there were more than 50 of those who attended. Bini lagi, GF lagi, Friends lagi and so on. We reached McD's Seksyen 22 at 11pm (itu yg mereka bgtau) and we were amongst the first few cars to arrive. I didnt tell you that husband did a quick minor modification to his car. The night before, we had the tyres and rims changed. And i tell you, it was all for THIS event. *you wouldnt want to show off a standard car, would you? Mereka2 ni kereta sudah bikin baek punya.

We ate McD's and had an ice-breaking session. Kenal-kenal orang sikit, borak2 and then we were all called for briefing before we move to Point B. The Mr. President pointed out all the important rules when moving in a big group. *you dont want to pose unnecessary danger to other motorists on the road, plus not many appreciate this sort of gathering. right? After the briefing, baru la nampak tuan-tuan punya kereta. Masing-masing proudly entered their cars. Macam Ayam Jantan tengah mendada kinda look. huhuhu. Funny.

There were marshalls to monitor us and to guide us to Point B. We stopped by at Dataran Shah Alam, then to Shah Alam Stadium. and lastly we headed for Sahur at Bukit Jelutong. All the cars were parked nicely. It was really an experience. we left the bunch at 3 am in the morning.

Just as we arrived home, husband said "Jom kita tukar lampu angel eye..." with a big grin.. Pulak!!

Bueeek!!

Remember i was not well earlier this week? On Monday afternoon, i started sneezing, and soon the sneezing became worse and then it was runny nose. Then, after lunch, i started having lower-back pain. I thought to myself , i needed rest, and asked for permission to go home early. Packed my stuff, asked for permission, and started walking out. Many saw me going home, and they started asking me. I said i was not well. Lower back pain, and all. The thing is, they all laughed at me. Kenape pulak gelak? orang demam, die gelak. They said, "pregnant nii!". I said, that can't be, coz i dont feel pregnant. You can actually feel u are pregnant if you really are you know. They kept telling me that. ape2 tah. So, I got 4 days of Total rest at home. Such heaven. Husband did take a day off to look after me. *padehal, dia malas nak pegi keje. huhuhu..

Came friday, i started working. I punched in at 9 am because i have to stay back until 6pm that day, so i missed the morning prayer. As i was walking to my work place, i saw the faces i last saw on monday. They came to me and started whispering at me. You guess? the thing is, words spreads like wind in my department. Suddenly, many came to me with winks and smile. All expecting 'the' answer from me. "betulkan awak pregnant?!" or "ye ke pregnant? dengar2 ari tu xsihat? pregnant ek??" Aiihhh.. I wished it is true. But no I'm not. I am not pregnant. yet.

Kadang2 stress jugak. Sebab, people expect you to get pregnant like soo soon. I am only into our second month of marriage. And people are all over me waiting for 'the' good news. It's like, that is all thats being asked these days. pregnant? yes? no? No. Susah betul. My inlaws pun xtanya gitu. If ada rezeki nanti, ada la. Siapa yang xnak anak kan? I mean, if you were to ask me if i want to get pregnant now or later, i would definitely say now. but thing is, i am not yet pregnant. hurmm. But i guess, i can still tolerate the questions. will see how far they will go with the questions. I'll take it all as du'a. Hopefully menjadi kenyataan. Ameen. hehehe..

okayla, nak ciao. Salam Ramadhan.

Demam

I have been under the weather since monday. Started off with cold fever with very high temp. and now, blocked nose (annoyingly both nostrils) and dry cough. hurmmm.. tried o*xymetazoline to relief the blocked nose, didnt work though plus the dreadful dry mouth as the side effect. oohhh. help me GOD! I'm practically.. breathing through my mouth. And you know how annoying that is. I hope i will be better soon.. Plus, we will be on our way to Terengganu this friday. lagi la kene be in tip-top condition.

Tadi, i sent the car for service. Since husband is away at work, i waited for them. It didnt take them that long to get it done. i sent it in at 815. and 10am, my car is ready. Service biasa je la. Nak balek kampung! huhuhu.. okay yo..

I have just found this awesome software that could do magic to the pictures i have in my laptop. And i tried it on my niece's Pic. Anfaal. gigiiit!!!

Cuti Raya

i dont want to be alone...

I nearly shed tears after being told that we can only apply for Raya Leave either before or After hari Raya. It doesnt quite make any sense to me though. I texted husband to inform him, and i know he wasnt happy when reading the SMS. Aihhh..

So, to keep myself up & happy, i drove myself to PKNS and bought meself a jubah. huhuhu.. and got a few photos printed. hehehe.. And now, i feel alot better. haih.. kerja-kerja..

My husband's niece

Everytime she sees my husband, she will make her way to him. When he holds her, she will smother her face onto his face. She thinks he is her daddy. Poor girl. But, her daddy will take her to the family back to Sarawak soon. So, i guess it is time to enjoy this little cutie while we still can. Right? By the way, Nur Iman Fatihah is her name.

husband & his favourite niece

Husband asked me to put her picture here because he said, she is so cute and adorable. haih.. i want one.

.rest.relax.

aaah.. feels good to be home. Home early today coz i have to work late night. hmmmph. tonnes of things to think of at work, about work.. and aaaaaaah. here i am at home.. away from work. Poor husband. Just a little update on our trip to Perhentian Island during our long hols.

.us.

We stayed at Arwana Resort, on the Perhentian Besar. We took this package by A*njung Holidays, which includes meals for 3 days, and 2 snorkelling trips. The best part was, the resort we stayed has a swimming pool. So, that helps for people like me. We arrived at Kuala Besut jetty quite early that is. 9 am after we sent Tok back to Jerteh (besut). we reached the island 11 ish. the thing is, we had to drop others at their destination first, and indeed, we were the last. But the water was so clear, u can see the beautiful corals on the seabed. even if its 10m deep. and owh, so breath-taking.

We went for snorkelling that very afternoon, after lunch. ahahaha. we were supposed to go to 3 different stops. huhuhu.. but something happened. U guess? i wasnt that confident to swim without the life jacket on. Husband as always refused to put the life jacket on. *lantakla, janji dia xlemas dah. hehehe.. the corals were green, there were so many colourful fishes, and best of all, we saw 5 sharks. we were awe-struck at one point when seeing one shark. but later, when we saw there were 5?!! kecut perut jugak la. huhu.. According to the man who took us snorkelling, 'if touch, dangerous. No touch, no dangerous' ... that did got me rolling on the boat. *kidding.

so, have you guessed what happened? Just as we were about to set off to the second spot, i got dizzy. I really couldnt tolerate the waves. Boats keep passing by, sending big waves, and got me rocking on the sea. i really couldnt stand it. and i threw out in the man's boat. there goes my lunch.. all of it! damn! husband asked the man to send us back to the resort, and i made a promise to husband that i will not join him for snorkelling the next day. ahahahaha.

I spoilt myself with a session of spa while hubby is busy looking at beautiful corals and shells the next day. waited for him at the beach, and had lunch. The food was good, always good. We enjoyed our short trip to perhentian. It was all great. Great scenery, great weather, everything great. hurmm.. On our way back to Ajil, we stopped by at Jetty Penarik to get FIL some crabs, Batu Rakit in KT for lunch, and Pulau Wan Man for a trip inside the Masjid Crystal. hehehe.. okay then.. enjoy the pics.

.redup.

.the jetty.
.beautiful.

.Corals.

.more beach.
.beautiful.

.goodbye.

Bonding session

We just got back from Terengganu after a good 2 weeks holidays. Well, it was actually the Majlis Menyambut Menantu on my husband's side. Alhamudulillah, everything went well. My family came in 10 cars, my aunts and uncles and their families, i cant thank them enough for spending their time and money to join me in Terengganu. They went back straight after the wedding but did manage to stop by at Pantai Kelulut, Marang for a feast. Huhuhuhu.. and left me at my PIL's.

All in all, it was all new experience for me. I have been to my husband's kg, 2 times before we got married. But, mase tu.. Malu-malu lagi. I still get the ..'eh, xpela.. biar ma buat' sort of reaction. But this time, it was different. I am already part of the family. and they are so very nice to me. Sometimes, they still treat me as a 'budak bandar yang xpenah masuk Kg' but its okay. I enjoyed my stay with my in laws. Aboh, he's a man of few words. He doesnt speak much, and i got nervous whenever i try to have a conversation with him, but, there was one night, we had dinner, Husband and MIL was watching TV and there were only the two of us. Aboh can be quite chatty. He talked about his experiences of going fishing, the types of fishes he got and all. And i am so glad. I thought that bonding session was the best ever since husband and i got married.

Other than that, I got to know alot about my husbands family. Different than mine, but i like it. I got a session of full body massage. My masseur was Tok. huhuhu. Nice eh?! tu la.. ceni, everytime balek, kena cari tok. She told me this.. "Urak toko ni.. urak teghik" I had to ask husband to translate for me.. huhu.. I am still learning to understand their Unique language. But so far, i think.. i am doing well. :)

Yesterday, before we head back to KL, PIL packed us with lots of things. Pucuk ubi, owh tonnes of it.. Jagung, bertongkol2.. Pisang tanduk, sedap digoreng.. Buoh ttene or famously known as petola, and bendi.. 1 kg of bendi. Terima kasih ma aboh. Mudah-mudahan murah rezeki kita semua. All in all, i had a good time in terengganu. Getting to know my new family and the relatives. I still have a lot of memorising and recognising to do. But i guess, i still have a long time to get to know my new family. But, i am so glad. I am glad.

ciao

Sad Vs Happy

Yesterday, Husband came home with a long face and muttered,"they gave me a farewell party, sedih rasenye pulak". I didnt know how to respond at first really, because i do understand so much the feelings of letting go. I hugged him, i said.. InsyaAllah you will meet nice people in your new place. My husband will be posted to PJ as an enforcement officer. Work starts monday. But, i know his passion is not in doing raids and best of all paper works! But hey, Kami yang menurut perintah. hummmph. Poor husband. Today, on our way home from our friend's engagement ceremony, he mentioned it again. I smiled to him, ensuring him that come what may, i will always stand by his side. :)

As mentioned earlier, today, our friends, Nazha & Faiz got engaged. We are indeed so happy for both of them. U see, we were the ones (not exactly), but we did helped them to actually get together, and now they are already half-way through to becoming husband and wife. CONGRATULATIONS korang! cepat-cepat sikit kawen! i have yet to upload pictures from my camera. so, that will come later. But i was really happy because we got to meet friends whom we've not met for a while. huhuhuh.. Since we got married *just 3 weeks ago i've been getting questions on 'dah berisi ke?' 'dah pregnant?' from many.. I wished i am. but hey, we've just got married for 3 weeks. I am just glad.

Owh, more updates. The department held a farewell party for us PRPs. Despite it being a farewell party, we were told to provide food and presents for the department. huhuhuh..anyways, the party went well, everyone had fun. especially us PRPs and those who are close to us, PFs, PPKs and some of our bosses. we bought 2 sets of 21 pieces of big Apple donuts, and everyone went sugar-high. hahaha..including me. enjoy the pictures.

Beratur skema-skema. Thanks Adam for the very nice shot.

Ready, set! JUMPP!
But what happened to the rest of them? still waiting to jump?
fairuz and myself, already in the air! hahahahah!

erk! cot, sakit sembelit ke?

Half of us.. i love this shot. I took it, thats why!

hurrrmm.. memories..

That was it. I do have more. But i am so lazy to upload the pictures. Yes.. Huhuhu.. yang penting, everyone enjoyed the photo-shoot. Huhuhuhu..
till then, toodles

128th

Again, here i am for my 128th post. Baru!
nevertheless, i couldnt believe that we are already into the second week of marriage. I mean, it isnt really hard to cope (at the moment at least) with the changes. But we are still contemplating whether to further our studies and come back as tutors or to wait for JPA scholarship for another 4-5 years. At the moment in time, we are really considering to further our studies. Myself at least. And getting pregnant. We dont intend to get pregnant anytime soon, but IF it happens, we are most grateful. So far, as of now, i am most grateful to Allah for all that the has blessed me with. Alhamdulillah.

Next weekend, would be the reception at husband's kampung. I cant wait to join him there. And we will be on a week long holidays. That means, going round Terengganu, meeting new family members (me, that is) and then off to Perhentian for our VERY2 First honeymoon. Allah Willing. But there are things that we havent done yet, that is to go get my husband a matching baju melayu. Tomorrow ya sayang?

on a total different note, i just bought meself an electric oven, courtesy of the department i work in. They gave me RM250 and told me to get whatever that i need. And i know i need an electric oven. I do need it because sometimes, i need to bake. Plus, my colleagues bought me a nice kenwood mixer. (i wished it was the super mixer) but hey, its good enuff really. I bought it today, because husband had to work night shift... sob2.. We actually went to Ikano yesterday to look at the ovens at Harvey Norman's. We saw the Kenwood electric oven. But they were all out of stock. NIL. The only left was the display unit. Then, we went round to Tesco, (hoping that they have a reasonably good one) but husband wasnt keen on buying an oven of a different brand (i really dont know why) because he made it quite clear that he didnt want the other brands. And i found it at JJ OU. Owh, thank god. But it was still difficult to decide on the kenwood that i bought. But i have bought it anyways. So i guess, when i move into our own house, i will have to bake more often. Wink wink..

As of now.. I am desperately waiting for the most-handsome guy on earth to come home into my arms. I really do miss him. Haih. okay aimi. Bye-O

Our Wedding

At this moment, i am actually waiting for my dear husband to come home from work. I had to work night shift tonight, which explains the dire need for my husband to come home early. I just need to spend time with him before i go off to work tonight. hmmmph..

Anyways, that pic was taken during upacara membatalkan air sembahyang. The man in green is my new Aboh, and the lady in maroon is my new Ma. My in laws. I am so happy to see them smile in the picture. :) Just a little information on my wedding. The akad was held at Dewan nikah Masjid Wilayah. * i think it is very convenient to have the upacara nikah there. We had friends from afar attending our nikah, some came all the way from Sabah and Sarawak. We were very happy, and grateful. I am glad that the Akad went smooth and it was all good. I am not sure of what to write. i guess, i'll continue writing later, k?

Dear Friends

Alhamdulillah
We are now Husband & Wife.. already for 5 days..
as for now, we are still based at my parents house. My husband is comfortable here, but we hoped to move out soon before we get very very comfortable and moving out will be even more difficult. Nevertheless, Life is great. I didnt know marriage life is this great. We are still the same people. except that, when we get up in the morning, we have eachother. husband is out to work. Poor baby. i'll start work tomorrow. hmmmph. I really dont feel like going to work. hahahaha..

i would love to extend our gratitude (on behalf of my dear husband) to all those who came to our wedding reception on the 26th of July. We really enjoyed the crowd and the presents and best of all, thanks for all the warm wishes and du'a. Allah have mercy upon us All, and bless us all with many happy returns insyaAllah. ameeen..

Bad day

I took half-day off to settle stuff for the upcoming wedding. Made a date with mommy dearest to go look for a tailor to make me my Nikah dress. But u see, mommy dearest have been complaining of back pain, not exactly.. She's been complaining of pain at her back.. waist? Nevermind. so, she's gotten herself an appointment for a physio session at the hospital. So, 3-ish, i drove down to the hospital to join her. She told me she was just about to have lunch. grrr.. u can never imagine how bad parking is at the hospital. People double park, and disappear. But i still went. and double parked. i was told by the men who watches over the parking bay that the row of cars parked on my left were in a meeting, therefore, they made it as though I can double park. They didnt tell me that i was supposed to leave my keys with them. ahahaha..

waited at the pharmacy with my mother, and i was also on the phone making phone calls, but during all those time, i was just there in the lobby. And then my mother went down to the Surau, i followed. I totally forgot that i double parked. So anyways, i went inside the surau, talked to mommy dearest and then she asked me, did u double park? why are u here and not there at the car? Then, IT struck me. oh MY GOD!!!! i ran back up to the lobby and the men, upon seeing me, haaaaa.. lame dah orang tu tunggu nak keluar. awak pergi mana? I was like, SHIIIITTT!!! i ran and saw this lady carrying a child.. i asked her, is that ur car? A harsh NO for an answer.. i did swear to her.. Sempat pulak. i totally panicked! like mad! i removed my car and i saw a young lady walking towards it. I ran to her and apologized profusely.

She said its okay, but u know.. u can never imagine the embarrassment! aaaargh. all this while, i've always hated people who double park their cars and worse; they do not put their phone number incase if the ones they blocked wants to go. And, It HAPPENED TO ME! sungguh memalukan! enuff said. the lesson to be learned is, Incase if you badly need to double park, just leave your phone number in your car. It makes everyone's life alot more easier.

Romantic!

I tried to watch Music & Lyrics once on the plane to UK, May last year. but i slept halfway through and i said to myself, it wasnt a good one. Yesterday, i got to watch the movie, and i loved it. In a way, the movie left a big impact in me. I love the songs, i am thrilled to watch Hugh Grant sing and dance (especially that POP song). Ala2 George michael gitu. if u still remember his 80's hits. hahaha. And i love the characters in the movie. the storyline is simple, but, i dont know. i think, british accent is sexy. huhuhu.

so, i uploaded the song. Enjoy.

My little cousin

Just a short entry on this cute little boy. Took him out for a movie last monday. it was just the two of us, and we definitely had loads of fun. I had fun going out with a three year old kid. :)

yummy in my tummy! *says Ahmad

adieu WDS8896

Innalillah to my uncle, cibud, cimin and ahmad for the tragedy that has befallen onto them. Alhamdulillah, they are all safe despite some cuts and bruises. Not any words can describe how grateful we are to Allah. The car is gone, but we didnt lose any family member.

The accident occured on the L*PT hiway, at around 6.30pm, wednesday 26/03/08. My uncle has recently been discharged from Hospital Te*merloh and under recovery at my grandma's crib in Kuantan. Alhamdulillah. My little baby cousin, Ahmad is enjoying himself with his cousins telling stories about his little adventure of the accident. Little did he know that it could've taken their lives. Nauzubillah.

Just to show the car after the accident. Eventhough, the car is our favourite car for us siblings, and it did got us teary eyes to learn that we've lost it, but then again, we can always replace WDS but we can never replace lost lives. So, eventually we understand that sooner or later, we must learn to let go. and InsyaAllah, this is a blessing in disguise. Ameen. My parents said, InsyaAllah we'll get another car for u children. Alhamdulillah. This i believe is all by willing of Allah.

excuse me for the low quality photos taken. it was just heart-wrenching when looking at the state of the car, said my brother and my dear fiance. (brother cried many times when talking to us on the phone, huhu)

Nothing that can be salvaged..

Maybe the 17" alloy rims? naaaah..

Engine still in place and can still be used, but car is a total wreck.

rear of WDS.. where is the exhaust pipe? Gone too

So, before i end my essay here (hihi.. sob, sob) i would like to bid my final goodbye to our ex-BMW 325 (WDS8896). The car has certainly done us good since we first got it in 2002. It is undeniably sad to see it gone in such way, but its better to have it gone than a family member gone. So, beemer dear.. Adieu. with much love. Jane

Emergency or not

i was working the night shift last night. clocked in at 9pm, and out at 7am this very morning. It was just like any other night shifts that i have done at the emergency department. Usually by 2.30 a.m, the MO's would already clear 98% of the patients (the crowd starts at 9pm). So, by then one of us would have the luxury to take a short nap first. So, after having had a nap, for close to 230 hours, my partner, KZ woke me up indicating that its her turn to take a rest. Who could resist the comfort of the warm fleece blanket especially in that super cold ED. Nevertheless, i still got up, washed my face, and started waiting.

there was only a patient from 4-5 am. 2 patients from 5-6 am. In between those waiting i did 'tersengguk' many times and once in a while landed my head on the desk. isk isk isk. So, into the last hour of my shift, i was alone at the desk. KZ was still sound asleep on the flattened boxes laid onto the cold floor. I didnt have the hearts to wake her up. So i waited.. and alone. At approximately 520am, 3 person came to me, asking me where is the ED screening counter. Showed them the direction, and waited. they came to me again, for registration. I dont know if they're illiterate or they are just plain 'lurus bendul'. Not any FIRST counter u see is the registration counter. Registration counter is next to the pharmacy. So i said, Registration dikaunter sebelah. Pretty much annoyed, but thats just how people are.

at around 6 am, I saw one of them taking a peek into the doctors room. In my thoughts, i'm sure they couldnt handle the long wait. And to make things worse, there were no other patients waiting. :P He came out and blurted something to his friends. Aaaaahh. ni sure doctor tido. In my own thoughts la. 10 minutes later, they were called in into the examining room. 620 am, they came out, walked to me and handed over the registration card. i scanned the code, and i didnt receive the prescription. i tried a few times, i tried to refresh the page 10 times, but to no avail. i told the patient that i havent received the prescription, and i asked them to wait. (sometimes, its not the doctor, but the system) and suddenly

Patient: Ni la ed yang paling teruk saya penah pegi.
me: haaa? (buat2 xdengar)
Patient: Saya datang, tengok doctor tido. skarang ni awak nak
suruh saya tunggu lagi? Ubat xde lagi?
me: *half-annoyed i was. xpe, pegi jumpa doctor balek and suruh doctor release ubat.
Patient: Nak pegi macam mana. Doctor dah keluar. Teruk punya doctor
Die cakap semua okay. tak tengok and xpegang saya pon. terus cakap semua ok.
Apa punya doctor.
me: *kept mum. called doctor straight.
Patient: Pastu mintak MC untuk saya.
me: * pulled a straight face. Aih, ko ingat aku ni ape? nak MC mintak la sendiri. siapa suruh memarah. heeeshh.

boleh x? and for your information, that scenario is a common scenario. Everyday, we get patients complaining to us about how rude some doctors are, and all those complaints la. it is stressful because, they are all angered up, and they dont tell you nicely. they raise their voice to you. Its stressful. I told the patient right after i've dispensed her medications. "lainkali, u nak complain, cakap terus kat doctor. Saya bukan doctor. saya pharmacist. borang complain ada u isi. Jangan datang sini marah2 saya. Bukan saya yang doctor." the patient was stunned to hear that. but eventually she apologized. I understand how stressful it is working during odd hours, and i understand how tiring it can be. But, its even worse for us because patients will not complain to them. because they know if they did, they're afraid that the doctor would deny treatment.

U just cant win when it comes to patient. No matter how hard you try to explain, they just wont listen. because when both person talks, no one will listen. really! For me, sakit or demam biasa its better to go and see the GP, rather than going to the emergency unless it is a real emergency. Many would say, its okay to wait rather than pay a hefty rm50 for simple meds and 5 mins consultation. But actually one waste a lot of time. Even in Islam, we shouldnt waste too much time doing nothing. If they come and read while waiting, i am sure it wouldnt be as bad. But the thing is, Tunggu semata-mata. memang la cepat marah. dah tu, siapa suruh buat dek je. Bawakla quran/story books to read. The doctors kat emergency tu, if there is a real emergency, they will have to leave whatever they doing. and that means, increased waiting time. So? siapa yang rugi?
think about it. till then.

Updates

Working night shifts can sometimes be interesting. It came home at around 8am this morning (thank god i missed the morning traffic) and went to bed immediately. I was flat and slept until noon. 147 pm to be exact. ahahaha. As soon as i got up, text dear fiance who's already at the mosque (friday prayers remember?). In the meantime, i remembered that i had things to settled:

1) To call Masjid Wilayah to book the date for 'nikah'.
2) To get all the documents for the 'nikah' ready
3) Attend kursus kahwin (We're definitely going tomorrow)
4) To call 'butik*syahirah' to confirm the rental rate for the dress found in a magazine (owh soo beautiful)
5) To call caterer to book for reception.
6) To check out on wedding invitation cards (already done, but havent actually decided on any specific design)

Alhamdulillah, i managed to get almost all of it done. So next is to get the forms and get all the forms ready for submission. Plus the HIV test also needs to be done as well.:) So i guess, that is it for now. ciao.

RM 6K for Medical Officers?

referring to a letter sent in by a father to a medical doctor/student, he said, the pay raise up to 6k for medical officers post 2 years of service in the government is so much relevant. And why is that so? because of the workloads. the working during odd hours, working long hours, etc2. In reality, does anyone realize that doctors in Malaysia are well paid? They get all the benefits that not any other profession in a hospital setting gets (So much for the so-called PRIMARY health-care provider). They usually get free lunches/free coupons, for the oncalls, they get to claim allowances for the extra hours they've worked. Imagine, if this doctor is super workaholic and decides to do on-calls for his friends, they do get a hefty-sum of money at the end of the month. They get most benefits because their doctors.

My point is here, What about the maxilo-facial surgeons? they too have to come in everytime a patient fractures his face (inc. mouth n face etc). If a patient bleeds from the mouth non-stop, these doctors will be called in, and not the medical officers. What about pharmacists? I'm not saying this just because i am a pharmacist. But little does anyone know, we too work during odd hours. Yes, the doctors do call us in the middle of the night, to ask for recommendations, dosages, medications that needs a pharmacists' authorization prior to use. yes. And as a matter of fact, we too work during odd hours. we too have shifts. But yes, our monthly salary is not even 1/2 of what they're getting. shame shame. I think being a doctor now is no longer about patient care. I salute the older doctors. I salute their passion towards treating patients but i guess, now everyone will want to be a doctor.

My opinion is, there is no exact primary health-care provider. U dont diss the dentists aside just because they specialize in oral and face area of the body. and U dont diss the pharmacists aside just because they dont do what the doctors do.the truth is, u dont see a medical doctor if you have a tooth-ache do you? You might find a medical doctor for advise on your medications but i guess now, the general public are more aware on the roles of pharmacists. If workload is the main concern, i dont think that increasing the pay to 6k monthly for a MO who's only worked for 2 years in the government is appropriate. In general, everyone has their work portion. and in hospital settings, I stand at 41 level, same with the other medical doctors and dentists. And if they say that we dont understand their workload, (just because there are and increasing trend of cases of medical negligence or error during procedures), i think they are plain wrong. In that case i think, we should revise on the dispensing rights for pharmacists! yeah?! I am all stressed out. bloody hell!

It was them who wanted to become doctors in the first place, and yet they complain soo bloody much! WTH? if only they remember what they always say after their SPM results. I wanna be a doctor because i wanna help people. Owh, F off!

Holiday

One the best weekends in my life, i shall say.:)
Saturday night, fiance headed back to KL from terengganu after casting his vote. (i didnt though, coz i 'forgot' to register). Sunday 530 am, i got myself ready and picked him up at the bus station, performed our subuh, and started our journey to Perlis. Imagine, Fiance travelled that whole day. From trengganu to Kl to Perlis. Poor baby. It was really a trip to remember. Imagine, we went in my car. Yes, that old car u see, and its proven that its still good. The day i remember was bright, skies were blue, and it was a pretty warm day. The wedding was on the same day, thus explains why we took the road early in the morning. My concern was, i couldnt make it on time to join the rest of the classmates. :P hehehe..

I took the wheels first. Fiance was too sleepy to drive. so i said, okay. That was my first drive on the NSH. I've never really driven that far. way till the end of the world. huhu. So, excited as i was, i let fiance gets his rest. I can say that i did drive fast, constant at 140km/hr because i managed to get to tapah within 1 hour 15 mins. My stomach was already growling and i realised that i was getting back pain due to the driving, so we had breakfast, read about the latest results on the GE, and after 30 minutes, we resumed our journey to Perlis. I didnt bring my camera so no pics. hahaha..

1045 am, we were already in Juru. Traffic was pretty heavy and fuel was already running low. but the car could still do with that little petrol left. I had driven 450km already. Refueled at Gurun and resumed journey. We decided to go to Kangar from Alor Star, (that was by recommendation from a few friends) and urghh.. Traffic was heavy and i could only do 80km/hour on a trunk road and still had a good 45km to reach Kangar. When we reached Kangar, dear Fiance was already holding the map on the back of the wedding card. (i've never really trusted maps on wedding cards. The scale is not accurate, they tend to missed out on important landmarks, they always skip on the traffic lights.. erghhh.. but still, that was the ONLY thing we had to direct us to our friends house. And.. we couldnt find the roundabout. on the map! we made a few rounds, passed by the stadium, hospital.. and by then dear fiance was already pouting and restless. And i said, okay, lets ask someone. fiance came back with a smile on his face. He said, okay this is easy. And it was easy. we stopped by at an old mosque to get changed. By 125pm, we were already at the wedding. All excited to see classmates whom we've not met for ages, especially those who came with their partners, and best of all, i got to meet aimi!

the wedding was interesting, the food was good, we had good company as well, and we stayed there until 3pm. G, aimi and I planned to go to Penang to spend the rest of the holiday there, whereas the others wanted to stay in Perlis. So after the wedding, G brought me and fiance to Padang besar to see some stuff. He managed to get a rugby jersey and i managed to get nice brooches for a good price. (after much bargaining, ahahah!). We were there for an hour or so because we had other places to stop by. 530pm, we left for Jitra through changloon. We passed by Cuping, the only (i think) and biggest Ladang tebu in Malaysia. and it was all so beautiful and the view was just breath-taking. Subhanallah. There were children running on the field with their cows. owh so carefree. If only life had been that simple right? ahaha. nevertheless, we stopped by Jitra, and then waited for G in Gurun. By 930 we were on the Penang bridge. yeeaaaahooooo!!! ahahaha. However, there isnt much to be seen. i mean, there were constructions left and right, but it was fun. I'm always fascinated when on the bridge.

we stayed in SMH penang. Had Nasi Kandar that night, and G brought us for some sightseeings. there isnt much to see since it was already dark, (and i fell asleep immediately after dinner in the car) but they managed to 'lepak' for abit at gurney drive. i missed that one though. ahahahaha. reached SMH at 1.30 am and went straight to bed. Penat okeh, i've been driving the whole day! 730 am, fiance woke me up. he called me on the phone by the way. then, we got changed and went down for breakfast. melantak xhengaat k. the food i can say wasnt that good, but its better than not having any. After bfast, G went to see her bf so the three of us, went toothpaste hunting. hahahaha. lepak2 at the hotel, by 1230 we were ready to check out n, went straight to pdg kota to mkn pasembur. Fiance, myself and Aimi spend 10 ringgit each for a plate of pasembur. Mahal okay! But i told fiance, its okay because we dont get to eat pasembur every day.. ahahahaha.. And then it was time to say Goodbye.

Sad.. i wished i had more time with my friends. But anyhow, i really enjoyed the trip though it was a short one. I always believe that planned trip wouldnt do for me. I like unplanned trip. yeah.. G took us for one last ride before we actually say goodbye, it was the ferry ride back to mainland. Ahahahaha.. ecstatic i was, really! Penang have always amused me. I just dont know why. By 2.30pm we were already on the highway, southbound. Fiance took the wheels first this time but insisted that i drive from Tapah to KL. hurmmm.. it really was a trip to remember.. minus the exhaustion.:P The only thing is, when we reach home, to have to think that the next day is work day, all the excitement went away, 'pooff'. it went away..:) Happy working everyone.

Today

My mother is now on her way to Manchester, to get her hands on her first cucu. And suddenly the house feels empty. She'll be away for a month leaving the rest of the brood behind. I could see that my dad was pretty much reluctant to let her go for a month. Thats pretty obvious isnt it, Men cannot be without women. ahaks. It is for my dad, uncles, my grandpa. maybe its a family thing. I got the whole day off today and i slept the whole afternoon. I do feel a bit, lost though knowing that my mom wont be around for a month.

Nevertheless, right after dzuhur prayer, i got myself ready and drove to the curve to pay dear Fiance's wedding ring. It hit me for a bit, I'm already at the curve, i shouldnt go home too early should i? then i went round, looking at things.. and.. i got myself two story books from the curve. I'm actually eyeing on Roald dahl's. But it was a bit too expensive. Couldnt afford the book, i need to save for our wedding. Immediately after that, i headed down the escalator. tak boleh lama2. Nanti jadi macam2. hahaha.

now, i'm waiting for the mechanic to send my brother's car home, but i have to send him back to his workshop, which is not so far by the way. so till then. ciao.

Welcome to the family!

My sister just gave birth to this cute little girl.. So Japanese.. So cute and adorable. I love her already! This is my first anak sedara. Name will be announced after 7 days of birth.:) Soon InsyaAllah. Born on the 25th February 2008. Cant wait to see her in July!

anak jepun mana ni?! u're so pretty!

One thing is for sure, i'm going to spoil this little girl.. infact, all my anak sedara to come. :) okay, ciao!

Buying a car?!

My friend bought a car recently. A Vios that is.. and it got me drooled for a moment making me feel that i too need a new car. But, i already have a car. Abah bought me 4 years ago. :p okay.. So the only candidate left is dear fiance for he rides to work, day in day out.. (and got me worried day in day out too). After doing much of thinking, i suggested to him that we need another car, one that could ferry us back to trengganu, or at least a 4 door car.. mine is a 2 door. small.:p

Honestly, i am not looking into non Malaysian-made car, and definitely not into P2 cars. (i Have little interest in P2 cars, self-proclaimed national carmaker, plus the price of the car). Thus, that leaves us with only 1 brand. At first i wanted a car that could satisfy my cravings for speed, a car that is stable, and abit sporty. Thus, i suggested a N. At one point, i was so sure of buying it. The, after many discussions that we had, i thought N is a wee-bit too small for us. I mean, there'll be mom and father in-law in the picture soon, so the car isnt sufficient.

Then, came the brand-new engine. Read about it alot, and was so thrilled to get my foot in it, and test drive.tp, i dunno what happened.i. Hahaha. So, with the new engine coming out soon, i said, why not wait for it. Afterall, all the cars will be replaced with the new engine. Then again, we dont know when exactly the upgrading-process will take place. on another note, I had W in mind. With the new engine, i believe that it will produce a much better car than the previous ones. The interior is not so bad afterall though it looks abit 'orang-tua-ish'. but the car is a beauty, already.

But this is a big decision. we dont want to lose too much of money from buying a car. So i decided to ask my dad, his opinions about buying a car. It was a good one discussion and that was what i needed to hear i guess. the conversation went:

Me : abah, Fiance needs a car. What do u think?
Abah: ok, thats good. what sort of car is he looking at?
Me : thats a good question bah. the thing is, we're not too sure of what to buy.
i'm thinking of a N, but it'll be impractical after we get married. what do u think about W?
Abah: Its a good car. plus the new engine. But i think its a bit expensive for you. Listen..
Buying a car, is not an investment. Its a liability. U have to feed petrol, send the car for service, maintenance, etc2. And it will cost a lot of money. U all ni beli kereta nak bergaya. Duit tu simpan la for house. U will need a house soon. And whats the point of beli kereta mahal2, tapi rumah takde. ur car should only take up to 30% off ur monthly salary. Faham. So, abah suggest go for the new S. I think its sufficient for both of you. etc2.. there he goes.
Me : Abah, u know me too well. hehehe..
Abah: I was once ur age. But it never occured to me that i need a car to bergaya. A car is just a tool to get you from one place to another.
Me : thanks bah. love you

So, after much of thinking and thinking, we have actually decided to go for a S. But when will we put in the down-payment? dont know yet. Ahaks.. But i guess, this is the beginning of our journey as a couple. There is no more you and i, theres abah and ma, and sisters and theres abah and mama, and sisters. and uncles, and soon, there'll be juniors. Life does not revolve around u and i like how it used to. Lets hope this is the best decision for many years to come. The car i mean. :)

Good boss or bad boss?

Every friday morning, we will all gather in a small room, for a session called 'morning prayers'. I am sure, it is called as such because we have it on a friday. It is like a day to sum up events/happenings in the department especially plus motivational talk (i think they should do it on Mondays instead of Fridays). Lately, things happened in the department. All the unexpected things and we are indeed popular for all the wrong reasons, how unfortunate. So, when we gather the superiors will go about with the problems, and will give input on how we should go about it and all the words of advice. yeah..

Yesterday, A gave a short speech (motivational talk, so they call it) and i liked it. His speech was about why we should never blame or faults on others but ourselves. The world around us can change, people will come and go etc, but if we dont move forward, we'll still be left behind. Our new boss, he's a really nice man. He smiles and greet everyone in the department, he remembers all our names, and he's a kind person. The problem with him is, he never says no. i mean, i am sure if there's some sort of help needed, he will try his best to help. And that has affected some in the department. Many thinks that he's being too kind, and biar org pijak kepala.

Sometimes, the doctors make suggestions that i shall say, a bit 'selfish'. But my boss here, will never say No and he will try to find ways on how to help them. The outcome does not matter. Whether its a yes or no. The most important thing is, He will never turn anyone down. baikkan? But many misunderstood his actions. many thinks that that is more of a burden. And they out-do him in the department. Talking behind his back and all, and most of all not respecting him as the leader in the department. True enough, the leader has to earn the respect from his subs, but we subs should always respect our leaders either way. The fact that he's not done anything shameful to the department is whats important.

So, that was why A read out that story to all of us, to remind us that our leaders can change, the people around us can change, but if we do not cooperate with each other, we will never go far, wont we? So lets see the what will the topic for this coming friday be. huhuhu..

loneliness

its only been 2 days he's away in Terengganu, and there will be many days to come, but truth is I miss him dearly. already. I know. i cant wait till he gets back. It feels different, i mean in a way, i felt embarrassed of myself for not being with him at this very time. I wished that we're already together so that i could go with him, and comfort him. I mean, theres still a few more months to go, maybe i should just be more patient.

Takdir Allah

Sunday afternoon
my phone beeped and 'cik is not well..i wa...' appeared on the screen.. Opened and read the message from him. he said he wants to go back in terengganu. I replied 'ok. we'll get the bus ticket tomorrow'.

things went on well, he was happy man u won againts everton. My family had a small bbq, my aunt and her family came over. He did too. i was very happy, but abit stressed out since the day after is a working day. past 1030, he went back to his small crib.

Monday
phone beeped again. 'i'm already at the hospital.kerja elok2.i love you' he wrote. i replied back, 'dont forget to apply for leave okay?'. worked really hard, and by 5pm, it started to rain. this is no cats and dogs. it rained so heavily and the wind was strong too. As i walked to my car, i was nearly blowned away by the wind. (exaggeration) but it was such a windy2 day, plus the rain. Reached home around 630pm. sat infront of the box as i had to have my daily dose of SpaaQ.huahua. Suddenly my phone rang. He seldomnly calls but it was him. answered the call;

him: ya, where are you?
Me: i am at home. just got home from work. it rained so heavily tadi
him: ya.... (long silence)
Me: yes dear
him: Cik dah takde. ya cik dah takde ya.. (he was already crying)

I was already speechless by then. Cik is the beloved grandfather. i've met him, once and i love him immediately. such a nice and warm old man. and it breaks my heart that He didnt get to by cik's side during his last breath. Cik died of old age. He was 90 plus. Later in our conversation i told him to get ready, i'll take him to the bus station and he;ll head back to terengganu that night itself. He agreed. Thanks God he got himself a bus ticket and by 9 he was already on his way back to Terengganu. Me? i had to stay. I told him if he ever needed me with him, i can take the next flight, but he assured me that he'll be alright. The burial proceedings was done immediately and he didnt get to say his final goodbye to cik before he goes 6 feet under. Anyways, he took the news quite badly. and i understand perfectly. Cik was the one who took him and picked him up from school. Cik was a big part of him. He loved his grandfather so much. Nevertheless, this is what Allah planned for us all. May Allah bless Cik's soul and ditempatkan dikalangan orang2 yang beriman. And i told him to always make du'a for cik. Sad as anyone will be, It is all in the Power of the Lord, Allahuakbar..

al-Fatihah.

Kerja

hey. have been busy these days. Since i've started working, i dont have much time to blog nowadays. Nevertheless, i'm blogging now. So, how's work and everything u ask? yeah, work is good. I love my work. Suka kecoh2. hahaha. but u know, there will always be days when u just dont wanna go to work, and there will always be those who will bug you in everyway they could. Anyways, i'm enjoying it. every bit of it. i'm currently attached under clinical, which means, i will have to go up to the wards and follow the rounds. With specialists and medical/house officers. i enjoy it. I enjoy listening to their discussion, enjoy trying to understand how they interpret the Xray-film, CT film.. hmmm.. i'm amazed they could see what i couldnt. hahahaha. And the best part is, being questioned about drugs, dosage, side effects, how to administer, when to administer etc. That should be my area of specialty. Although i have to admit that i most of the time have to rely on books to answer all their queries, but i'm glad.. i'm actually contributing. kan? Ketaq gak lutut. Bukan lutut je, tangan pon habis ketaq. tp jawab mesti yakin. Salah pon, yakin. tapi mesti betulkan, dan dengan yakin. heh.

i was in ICU for 2 weeks. How i wished i could stay longer.. i enjoy the rounds so much. The ICU team, they are really good, and the best thing is they really respect pcists' say. Good. And, seeing all the patients in the ICU, really got me 'insaf'. Its just sad, looking at the patients attached with so many wires onto the body, with all the beepings from the ventilators, pressure monitors and etc. Because they are all intubated, the nurses will have to perform suction from their throat for aspirate. and u know, its actually painful. worse still, when they contract bugs from the hospital environment itself, nosocomial infection and these bugs are usually resistant to many antibiotics which leaves the docs antibiotics with increased risk of organ damage. Some survived, some didnt. Its just sad to know that the patient couldnt survive. Insaf.

That was ICU. Now, i'm attached under the Infectious Disease Ward. We are the referral center for patients with retroviral disease. So, i could say that 90% of patients in the ward are RVD +ve patients. Semua ada. Melayu, Cina, India. And they come in with all sorts of weird infections, ones that normal people dont get, but they do. if u're in the medical line, u'll understand when they say, opportunistic infections. Its a bit scary though. 3 days in the ward, my eyes became very itchy. i dont know whether its just me, or its the ward itself.but everytime i go up into the ward, i'll start rubbing my eyes, and it does scare the ***t out of me. Anyways, no matter how they contract the disease, i hope they will have enough time to ask for Forgiveness from Allah and that Allah will help them during the time of death. Let Us all make doa that Allah will make it easy for all of us.

Sometimes, we should look at these people. When u talk to them, u can sense the feelings of regret in the patients, only that it is too late. sedihkan? Jadi, kita2 yang sehat ni, lets count our blessings. And lets become an obedient servant to Allah. Mungkin kita kene bawak anak2 kita ziarah these RVD+ve patients to teach them to value life. Dont do drugs, dont do prostitutes, sex rambang and homosexual/bisexual relationship.tolong la jangan. sedih melihat. let us learn from their mistakes and lets not do the same mistakes, can we? Kita ada Tuhan, Jadikan Dia sebagai tujuan hidup so that our lives will be more meaningful and be blessed, with Allah's will. ameen.

thats enuff for today.till then. ciao

series of unfortunate events

How would u feel, if u're getting news of people around you have passed away? undescribable. This i may call my series of unfortunate events. I thought, what the heck since i'm now working in a hospital, and u know how fast things go in hospitals. Today they are ok, the next day, they're gone. But nope, it didnt help me, not a bit. to start off with, my old friend, Fadil died in mid August. he succumbed to his injuries after a road accident. the news came like a thunder. I thought he was already getting better, thus i postponed my visit to the hospital. what a shame. He died the next day. Shame. shame. I wished i had visited him. and thats only a wish.

With Fadil no longer alive, and me consistently monitored my friend [the gf] i know she is going through a rough time trying to get used to the fact that Fadil is no longer here, made it even harder for me to come to a realisation that he's gone. sometimes, after reading what she sent to his f*riendster, i thought he is still alive and well.. Just as i was about to come out of it, i received a news from my cousin that my aunt is very ill. Didnt want to take the chance of not getting to see her incase if she died, i went to see her. with Him of course. She died the next morning. that was early thursday morning. And on sunday morning, i was awakened by my mother, telling me that our neighbour from our previous home, the son died in an accident. and he was my age. sedihkan?

tu tak kira lagi patients ICU. i am now supplying meds for ICU patients. Its just sad. I wish u people well, and i'll always make d'ua to Allah, that He'll grant us good health and let us enjoy the days remembering Him, praying to Him, and enjoy the company of our loved ones. insyaAllah.

I wish Hasrul bin Rashid (a patient in the ICU) well. May Allah help u and bless you. May Allah bless us all. amiin..
