Make Du'a

Derbyshire

I wasn't really finished with the previous post. But anyways, we are now a lot more settled. I think we are here for almost two months. And I can't thank Allah enough for all that He has blessed us with.

The first week in Derby, we were greeted with snow. It was a cold spell throughout the island. And the snow here in Derby was ankle-deep. The days were very cold with temperatures plunging down below 0 degree. Alhamdulillah, we survived without much complaints. Hehe. Tool the kids for a feel of playing in the snow, making snowman. Hamza was so excited he started a snow-fight. Cute. The cold spell lasted for 2 weeks or maybe less.

Other than that, we've met Malaysians studying here. And there are 6 of them including the husband. We get together rather often. Cook something for all of us, share some laughs and our experiences and jokes. It is all different but otherwise good.

But u know, what is life without challenges? What is the meaning of studying if you already know the answer to everything, right? And that too we didn't miss. Life can never be easier nor difficult. But when it does, one just have to brave through it. And yeah. But I am very positive with all the hardships because I believe hardships make u become only a better person.

And being faraway from the usual daily routine, familial support especially with the kids, makes things very different. We have to sort the kids all on our own. And truth is, they are just right under our nose 24 7. After a while, it can get to your nerves. No movie outing, no lunch or dinner for just me and the husband. Heh. But hey.. I am not complaining. I have never felt more content with my life. I am so grateful for the time i have with the husband and kids. Priceless. I am so relaxed. I don't mind doing the chores. I love it. I don't have to think about work, the mind is not exhausted, yeah and i love it. I don't take naps in the afternoon despite staying home.

Heh. I am praying for a smooth sailing adventure here with my beloved husband and my precious sons and unborn baby. May Allah bless us with more rezqi. Ameen.

Till then. Toodles

Baru

Assalamualaikum,

The weather has been urmm.. COLD. There's snow outside the house. Subhanallah. I thought the last time i saw snow was when i was 4 years old. And then.. 25 years later.

Yes, we are not in Malaysia. The husband was given the opportunity to further in Msc. and believe it or not, we decided to come to this foreign yet not so foreign land (to us, and to many that is). We are in Derby, England. Why Derby? Because this is one of the only place where the husband can do his course.

Honestly, coming to the country at THIS time of year is not so fun. Yeah, the snow, the leafless trees.. But it's just cold. The day is of course shorter than the night. The day starts at 830 am (thats when the Fajr ends) and it ends at 5pm. That's Isya'. Sesuai la untuk sape sape yang nak qada' puasa. huuuu.

The whole journey of COMING to this land has been so overwhelming. We left behind everything and everyone in Malaysia. Our parents, our brothers and sisters, our friends, relatives, neighbours, bebeh the cat.. well absolutely everything. But as many advised, don't look back. Look forward and enjoy the new journey and adventure. In shaa Allah it will make us become better beings.. as a whole.
