Hamza at 5 months

I am on leave today... Why? Hamza had his 5th month immunisation jab yerterday. I will usually stay in incase his temperature shoots up. So, that explains why. But Alhamdulillah, as until now, hamza is as active as ever. No muscle pain at the injection site, and no low-grade fever. Syukur. The previous jab was painful i know because he cried the whole evening, and i couldn't even touch his right leg. Sengal. He'd cry everytime we try to cuddle him, lift him up or when we try to put him down. It's so heart-wrenching. But it lasted for 1 day only. He got better the next day but with a low-grade temperature. Sian anak aku. But i am glad the nurse was more gentle with him this time.

At 5 months 8 days, Hamza now weighs 7.3 kg, and is 70cm long from head to toe. His head circumfeence is 42cm. Basically, he's growing well. Alhamdulillah. And still feeding on my milk. But at 5 months, he drinks 7 onz of EBM. Banyak!! So i've started him on solid. I had  no choice, but he too loves it to bits. I started him with apple puree. Now, we feed him rice [brand nestle tu] during the day. otherwise, it'll be a nightmare for me. Hamza is one baby with huge appetite and huge tummy as well. huhu. [anak baba la katakan]

Owh.. i want to share this incident that took place while i was in the room waiting for the nurse to check on Hamza. My son has a small white patch near the corner of his right eye. So, i requested to see the doctor. the patch looks to me like fungal infection. So yeah, i just wanted to confirm that it is fungal. The nurse took us to the doctor. baik hati dia. then she started the conversation..

nurse: awak kerja hospital bahagian apa?
me: Farmasi.
nurse: ooo. patutla awak tanya pasal anak awak. ubat dah tau la ni.
me: haah. saya nak confirm diagnosis je.
nurse: awak pegawai kat Fever Center ke?
me: tak. tapi semua pegawai rotate kerja kat fever center.
nurse: tu la.. ni nak cerita ni. maybe farmasi terlepas pandang kan? [aku dah apehal nurse nih?]
kebetulan smalam, doctor sendiri pegi amek ubat dari farmasi. dia datang kat kami tunjuk
ubat. doktor kata "tengok!farmasi bagi ubat dah 'expired'! ada ke?"
me: [terkejut!] ye ke? staff nurse tau ubat apa?
nurse: tak tau pulak ubat apa. tapi memang dah 'expired' pon. doctor sendiri tunjuk kat kami ubat
           tu. dia tulis 12/09. kan?
me: doctor pulang balik x pada farmasi? mintak ubat baru?
tu. Janganla biar je. bagitau, supaya kami tau salah kami.

Bengang kejap! i mean, come on. How could the doctor? Went to the nurses, show to them our mistake and not tell us?! Apa masalah dia? Bagitau je la. Inform. Saje je nak mencari salah orang! I called up the staff incharge immediately and told her. She was definitely shocked to hear about the incident. And when checked, memang dah nak expired. I said to her, memang it is our mistake. negligence i shall call it. But does it hurt to tell us that the drug is nearing to its expiry date? does it? Maybe it does kan? Haiyooo..

On the contrary, after complaining about us not doing our job, she too didn't do hers well. She didn't even ask me about Hamza's development as accoding to the check-up book. All the other nurses asked me except this one. All she did was, gossip [it was more like a gossip than a complaint] and tulis-tulis dalam buku. tak tanya tak apa. aduih haih.

Oklah, hamza dah menjerit-jerit! Got to go.

New Layout...

... YET AGAIN!

Well, to be honest.. i got bored of the old one. So.. Tadaa!! I like it. I hope you like it too. Plus, I have removed all those unnecessary widgets. kuangkuangkuang... Hurmm.. Now i feel like updating more often. Owh, Thanks to Blogger Templates. They've definitely helped make my life easier.

On a different note, Yeah, we've been travelling almost every weekends, December kan bulan bercuti. My sister and her family came back from the land of the Queen for a 2 months holidays. Then, we went back to visit my In-laws in Terengganu. Last weekend, we went to PD for a  mini gathering with the families from my dad's side. And it was all good. It was a good getaway from work. I'll find time to update on PD and maybe some other stuff. I am quite busy with work, and Hamza being Hamza. So irresistable.

Ok y'all. Till then.

Lets go to the Zoo

My brother in-law and his family are here in KL. So we thought, why not take them out, Jalan-Jalan in KL. Aquaria, too expensive. So, we've decided to bring Fatihah and Iqbal for a visit to the Zoo. Tengah hari begini. But i am sure the kids are going to enjoy watching the animals. I need to get ready yo!

Updated**

Setelah sekian lama ingin mengupdate our trip to the Zoo, baru la ada masa. Anyways, it was just a short trip. We spent close to 3 hours in the Zoo. It was just so good i tell you. We the adults were definitely more excited than the babies. They are still too young to understand. But hey, its never too soon right? Hamza slept 3 quarter of the trip. Hahaha. Only to wake up when we've done watching the lion roar.. RROAAAR!! huhu.

Zoo Negara is still a good place to bring your kids to. I'd rather bring my child to Zoo than to the mall. *walaupun Mall adalah untuk memuaskan nafsu shopping mama Hamza. kahkah. anyways, anyways.. The entrance fee, the last time i remembered, i paid rm3. Now, we paid RM20 per adults. Bayar je la. Lagipun, kalau yuran murah, how are they going to maintain the Zoo right? We took the Zoo tram coz its a bit too warm to walk. plus the babies, memang xlarat nak berdukung all the time. So yeah, we paid an extra rm3 per adult for the tram around the Zoo.

Other than that, i enjoyed having my brother in-law and his cute little family around, spending some quality time with our children. Plus, his children loves Hamza to bits. hehehe. So yeah, thats just about it. till then.

Lets go to the Zoo.. *sings

Happy

Alhamdulillah

Hamza was very cooperative with me, his father and his neyna. He was such an easy baby the night i had to leave him. Husband sms-ed me saying that he talked himself to sleep. Cute! He never does that whenever i am around. That's for sure. The whole 10 hour away-from Hamza felt like ages! I kept looking at the clock. Bila la nak pukul 8 pagi ni??!! There were times i felt like driving home to be with my baby. :( I missed my son terribly. I even cried at my husband before i left for work.

By 8 am, i was all ready to go home. Drove home as fast as i could. Aaaah. As i reach home, Hamza was already up and waiting for my return. I think so. My breasts were so engorged that morning. I forgot to take the breastpump with me to work because i was too busy being sad that night before i left for work. I fed Hamza immediately. It couldn't wait. The pain i mean.

I am most glad and grateful to Allah. Syukuur Alhamdulillah. Ya Allah, u can never imagine how worried and sad i was that night. And i know, Hamza is such a good son, and a very patient boy. I am most glad. Upah susu 1 hari. :)

okla, i need to have some rest.

**on a different note, i'll be working the 5pm-11pm shift tomorrow!! Aaaargh! Hamza, tunggu mama balik ye baby.

Dugaan

I had to work from 5pm-10pm yesterday. Thank you for the superbly-done timetable. Anyways, this is infact my very first time away from Hamza at that time of day. Usually, we'll only be separated from 8am to 5pm. I always make du'a to Allah so that Hamza will always be okay. Kita sentiasa du'a but, Allah knows best and Allah yang menentukan. Hamza refused his bottle. Yet again. He cried for an hour. He refused to be held by his father. Poor husband. Still, all husband said to me was, Hamza is a bit unsettled, but he's alright dear. Mungkin dia xnak merisaukan diri ini.

Husband came to pick me up at 10pm. Hamza was with him, asleep. I quickly took Hamza and fed him. I can see from his face that things were not alright. I asked him, and he told me, He only took close to 2onz. of milk. That's too little for Hamza. Husband said, he only wanted to cuddled. And he'll scream at the sight of his milk bottle.

I didn't know what to do. Owh, sungguh mencabar dugaan yang Allah berikan. Maybe for some, this is a none-issue. Of course breastfeeding is easy. I do not blame breastfeeding. I am sure it is Hamza. He's so not used to not-having me around him, especially during his bedtime. So i guess, that made it worse. I have never done the 10pm-8am shift since i gave birth. Tonight, is my first night away from Hamza. I am worried and worried and so worried and sad on top of that.

There'll be another nightshift in December. Owh Allah, Have mercy on us all. I hope Hamza will take the bottle without any fuss and will fall asleep easily. Baby, mama will come back as soon as i can ya? please behave. Last night, I refused to breastfeed him. I gave him the EBM instead. He gulped it down in just minutes. I guess he was hungry. But, i had to cuddle him for almost an hour to make him sleep. :( We can only work as hard and try as hard as we can. But, it is all Allah Willing. I am indeed hoping for a miracle.

I am not complaining. I am grateful i can breastfeed my son exclusively. and my milk supply has not run dy just yet. Tapi, dalam kesenangan, I am sure ada cabaran and dugaan that we have to endure. Be it me or husband. But, I am not going to give up just yet. I am already considering to... well, maybe its a bit too soon to say it here.

okay. i guess, i shall go now. Quality time with Hamza.

I'm up so early...

... Expressing.

That is my currnt status in my Facebook. It is early. It's 3.10 in the morning. Alhamdulillah, Hamza has just dozed off after his dose of mama's milk. Good. Husband is soo asleep. I am sure after all the struggle...? not struggle, really.. effort and energy put forth looking after Hamza while i'm away at the University. Owh, I forgot. I am now blogging from Kota Kinabalu. I am attending the 2nd ICORM here. It's all good. Sabah is good. We enjoy it. The only thing about going places is the 'damage' it will cause especially to my Wallet. *but is causing some damages to husband's too. xpasal-pasal he brought back two story books..huhuhu..

The hotel we're staying is in the 1 Borneo hypermall. Not exactly In the mall. But it's attached to it. Jadi, ape la lagi? I haven't had the chance to go round the whole mall. Its huge. Something like MV. maybe a little bit smaller. Lots of shops.. and yes. the damages to my wallet . Soon if not now. But you see, it's always more convenient to take Hamza to the mall than to town. Leceh x? babies and panas la, xcomfortable la. But there's always a free shuttle that can take us to town. Its Free, isn't it?

The conference is held at the Main Lecture Hall of UMS. I mean, we're only coming in to Day 2 but as a matter of fact, i do enjoy attending the conference. It's good, it's not common in the place where i practice or work. Of course la kan? This conference is about Rural medicine. So, it's cool. The organizing committee, they are very nice and kind and super helpful. I had to go back to the Hotel to feed Hamza. So, they arranged for me a van to send me back to the Hotel. I am very happy. Plus, the thing about conferences like this, i get to listen to the Free Paper presentations. Some are good, very good infact. and some are just, well.. not so interesting i shall say. well, that's just about it.

Still enjoying Kota Kinabalu. Planning to go sightseeing soon. Okla, dah ter'over' dah nih. I've gotta get some sleep. kena bangun awal.:)

My Dream Kitchen - PART 1

Haih.. I so can't wait to have our own house to live in. It's really thrilling and exciting. The best and scariest part is definitely to furnish the house. Yes. Yes. But it takes a lot of CASH to furnish it. Everybody knows that. Since i am getting a relatively big and spacious kitchen, *and my interest in cooking and baking, of course i want a nice and functional kitchen. We are in no rush to buy things for the house just yet. Biarlah selesai segala proses dengan lawyer dulu, then we'll start thinking of how to furnish the house. But, THIS, i can't help but think about it all the time. *not all the time, but it comes to my mind often, sometimes i feel that i need it NOW! Kronik aku ni..

THIS IS MY DREAM NO.1

A Range Cooker

SMEG Range Cooker

Picture taken from here

Range cooker is what our mothers and grandmothers used to buy. That was before the popular hobs were introduced into the market. It is usually a 5 burner stove that comes with an oven. I think so. Yeah. Tapi the range cooker that i like comes with modern features *bukan macam mak-mak kita pakai dulu ye. And i tell you, i so dream of having it in my kitchen. At the moment, the only place to get these modern range cooker is at this shop in TTDI, BENOVA. But these range cookers are all imported product. The brands that i know of is Smeg. *that's the brand that BENOVA is selling i guess. And i googled for range cookers, i found that electrolux produces range cookers as well. The other brands, i don't think they are available in Malaysia. Range cookers are more popular in europe countries. Yang I tau, in UK. *Coz my aunt has 1 and its so cool, for me at least.

Electrolux Range Cooker

The ONLY reason to not have it is, PRICE. It is not common in the country, so they couldn't sell it by volume. Maka, harganya pon sangat TINGGI. Anda rasa berapa for the smallest range cooker? a 3ft  *smallest ye range cooker is roughly around RM5000. Mahal, kan? It hit me, perlukah spend terlampau banyak for a 5 burner stove and an oven? Adakah saya akan masak 5 jenis lauk sekali harung? Mungkin tidak. But trust me, Hati ku meronta-ronta inginkan ia. Mungkin kena usaha jual Tupperware dengan lebih jaya, tidak begitu?

The most important thing is, we are still a bit far from moving in into the house. Plus, it is a shared property, *suami juga ada share walaupon saya yang empunya dapur. As for NOW, it will only be a dream/wish. Andai rezeki kami tiada, i am more than happy to use the built-in hob with 3 burner *sempat lagi, kan? Dan, andai rezeki kami ada, apa lagi? i'll be over the moon, the stars, everything! huhu.. Sekian sahaja angan-anganku untuk kali ini. Nanti sambung PART 2 pulak ye?? I want to continue to deam of these HOT range cookers.

There are more to see. Many more! All sorts of brand and design. *drooolll.. I've attached some links for those who are interested to look at. I hope u'll enjoy as much as i do. :) Have a nice day!

Hamza and Bottle

At the moment, i am struggling to get him back to being bottle-fed during the day coz i'll have to attend a conference in Sabah next week and his father will have to babysit him while i'm away. On top of that, my mother will come back with my sister and her babies in two weeks time. So, like it or not, i still have to train Hamza again. But, see it'll be a bit difficult because by now, he can identify that i am his mother and the boobies are on me. So, everytime i try to feed him by bottle, he will stare at the boobies. And after a few gulps of milk, he'll play the teat with his tongue. Sometimes or most of the time he'll spit the milk out if i force the teat into his mouth. Haiyoo.. Susah..:(

I read alot of tips on the net. But well, i guess it will take sometime for Hamza to adjust to the bottle again. But believe it or not. It only took him 1 week plus to forget how to feed from the bottle. He hates the teat anyway. I felt so guilty because husband tries really hard to make him want the bottle again. But, he'll cry his lungs out and you know, at the end of the session, he'll be frustrated and totally frustrated. and the fact that sometimes Hamza cries in his arms makes it more depressing and frustrating.

Some tips to be shared when introducing (in my case re-introducing) bottle to breastfed babies are:
  1. If you are a working mother, you should begin bottle feeding at least two weeks before you start working.
  2. Bottle is best if given by carer or father instead of the mother.
  3. Makesure the rubber teat is warm and not cold when introducing teat to baby. run the teat under warm water. Hamza prefers warm milk though.
  4. Feed baby in a different position (not the position you breastfeed your baby)
  5. Try to walk about when feeding your baby via bottle to distract his attention.
  6. Do not force-feed your baby. (i do that sometimes, hikhik. didn't work though)
  7. Give the bottle to baby when he is not very hungry. If he's very hungry, he'll refuse the bottle completely.
Hurmm, these are basically just tips/ guidelines to follow. But if it does not work (like in my case), will just have to find other ways to do it. Maybe we'll do spoon feeding/cup feeding. But if it is so difficult to cup feed him/ spoon feed him, i think i'll have to consider to start him on solid a bit early. But, from the parenting books that i've read, they said solid can be introduced to a baby as early as 4 months and latest by 6 months. Hamza will be four months this coming 21st November. So, maybe we'll start him on solid by mid December. Those are just plans. If Allah willing he can tolerate the bottle, we will continue with milk exclusively until he is 6 months. So far, husband and i have not throw in the towel just yet. We'll keep on trying until we are very-very sure that he really does not want/need to be fed via bottle.

Sekian sahaja celoteh untuk kali ini ye.

mahal

 Duit-duit

I was reading Hanis' blog about what to expect when being new parents and it hit me that it is expensive not only to have a child/children, but to live our daily life. It is true. Now that we're already parents, we too feel the heat. We spend alot on him. From the time before he was born, up until now, there's always things we need to buy for him. It is really a blessing from Allah that i get to breastfeed him exclusively until now. On top of that, my mother has been very kind for volunteering to look after Hamza when i am at work. So, we save alot for formula and nursery. Alhamdulillah, Hamza xde nappy rash and his skin pon bukan sensitive skin. So, xde la banyak sangat nak spend on Nappy.

Baby clothes in Malaysia is SUPER expensive. a pair of tshirt and shorts at Baby K*iko is, at least RM25. A tshirt at Baby Po*ney is RM 25 (that is after discount). A*nakku is not cheap either. 1 pants is RM10. then u need to buy the top. Another RM10. That is already RM20. If you are into designer brands, i am sure it is  double or triple or more than what i have mentioned. I am just saying on general basis. Itu baru baju. What about their learning stuff. Books, toys, etc? itu baru baby.

I was in the UK last April to visit some family members there. Baby clothes are cheap. Damn cheap. I am talking about relative comparison. I bought a pack of 8 baby romper from M&S for 8GBP. Convert it back to RM, it was only RM 40 (then it was RM5/GBP). T-shirt from Next, was only 3GBP. And then, u get shops like TK Maxx, that sells branded goods at a very cheap price. In the UK, xpayah la designer brand ni. Baju- baju in the hypermarkets, brand George/TU baru 2GBP. Kain cantik, design lawa. Ala-ala Mothercare gitu infact sama quality dengan Mothercare. and memang all intent and purpose to compete with brand-brand mahal. but murah-murah jer. H&M pon, bukan mahal sangat. Semua adalah affordable. Kalau u all pergi pon, pasti meroyan. We got Our Chicco baby sling for only 15GBP. Thats only what? RM75, as compared to RM200 in Malaysia. And they earn similar to us. A doctor earns 3000++ GBP. A junior engineer earns 1800++ GBP. Sama la kan?

But it is a total opposite in Malaysia. A*nakku was supposed to compete with these imported brands. and they should sell it cheap. but nope. a sleepsuit is RM29.90. Mothercare sells baby sleepsuit at RM100++ for 3pieces. i'd definitely buy from Mothercare. Designwise, material wise, betul? Kadang-kadang, when i think of it, Malaysians ni kaya-raya terpaksa sebab we have to afford all these things. Kalau nak yang murah, beli baju pasar malam la. Kain yang xserap peluh, and things like that. true? not true? Malaysia is still home for me. Hujan emas dinegeri orang pon. But u know, sometimes it makes me wonder, why.. Just why.

Kalau la duit tumbuh atas pokok??

Itu lah, tapi i guess, we are so used to it. Fikir banyak-banyak pon buat pening kepala dak? Husband and I have already set up a fund for Hamza for his future. Jadi, for me.. i'll spend accordingly, based on our affordability. Xtau la apa yang aku dah bebelkan.

sekian sahaja.

Our Home

We are in the process of completing the transfer for the house we purchased 2 weeks before i gave birth. It was like 'Bulan Jatuh ke Riba' because the house was sold at an amazing price. It was an unbelievable offer. We wee looking at the 22x75 built-up houses in Ser Utama. Sebab itu je yang mampu. We missed an offer earlier because we were busy bargaining the price. Tup tup, a family dah paid the downpayment. i've always believe that rezeki comes from the Almighty. So when i saw the advert in the newspaper, i called up the agent and set an appointment to view the house that very afternoon. Husband liked it, i liked it. It felt like home. We paid the earnest deposit immediately. The best thing about the house is, it is not the normal 22x75 built-up, but 22x85. The design is different, and i got a reasonably big backyard and a long driveway. This is all Rezeki from Allah.

So yeah, I dont have the picture of our house just yet. But let me show you the Floor Plan.

TADAAA..

Our lawyer is still busy preparing all the important documents to be submitted to the 'Pejabat Tanah'. So it'll take sometime before we can move in into our new house. But it's fine. We can save up in the meantime. We need to furbish the house. It needs kitchen cabinets, furnitures, curtains. But there'll be just the three of us. So we'll take things one at a time. No rush ye?

Sekian sahaja.

Cerita ku

I was online with my mother yesterday. We were chatting about her trip to Scotland the other day. *mak ku memang suka berjalan. Out of the blue, she started talking about me. She said she's worried about how i am going to manage my own family once we've moved into our new home. Coz as for now, I don't cook, the maid is there to clean the house etc. And all that i do is look after Hamza. It sounds easy for now she said. There's people to help around. I knew that that was coming. I knew she was going to say something about me not doing anything in the house.

But u see, after much discussions with my sisters, we came to a conclusion, we agree that it is difficult to cook when our mother is around. because we know her cooking is far better than us. right? Plus, kalau nak tolong, nanti dia 'dah dah dah, biar mama buat'. Tu yang xtahan tu. especially when she says that. hahah. But that shouldn't be the reason for me not to cook. Now that she's away for a month and i am on a month leave, I didn't take any chance to not do any housework.

My husband leaves home for work at 7. By then, i'll be awake to feed Hamza. 730 to 800, he'll doze off, and i'll start to clean up our little room. kemas-kemas sikit. If i need to send my sister to work, i'll leave home by 850am. When i come back, i'll accompany dad for breakfast and by 930 hamza will be up and crying. Bathe Hamza and feed him and play with him. I'll prepare for his nap time by 1130. Lunch, i'll eat whatever is available and do my own things. Feed Hamza when he wakes up. play with him again. read some book maybe and wait for dear husband to come home. He'll reach home by 500 pm and i'll pass the little boy over to his baba. by 6pm/630pm i'll start cooking.

Everyday is like that now. And i HAVE to cook because my dad wants to eat dinner at home. Yeah. So far, my mother is happy that i am taking charge of the kitchen, not the maid. *my dad will complain if the maid cooks the main dish. I'll cook all the gulai lemak/curry/the main dish that is. And Alhamdulillah, there's always food on the table, and everyone in the house pon x complain. I am most glad.

Now, i feel more confident when cooking. And i now know how to troubleshoot incase xsedap or anything. I am most glad. I am glad that i am able to do it.

blueberry cheese tart

Dah lama nak update blog yang dah semakin berabuk ni.. Baru la boleh buat dengan jayanya. Reason being is the adaptor gave way. And i can only go online when my little sister is home. Yesterday, dad went to Lowyat to buy new laptops for his company. I got him to buy me a new adaptor. Syukuur. So yes.. kita teruskan??

Hari tu teringin nak makan blueberry cheese tart. So, i searched for the recipe, and found this. I persuaded husband to take me to G*iant to get the ingredients and there you go. I spent the whole of saturday morning making blueberry cheese tart. Alhamdulillah, it turned out well. Husband and all the others loved it. I managed to take some to the office for my staff. Its very easy to make. Eventhough i have never baked any tarts/pies before, but i watch alot of baking and cooking programmes especially on AFC. And thus. I rasa nak tepek pulak recipe tu. Tapi, it's not my recipe ya.. Here goes:

Pastry Dough
125gm Unsalted butter (cut in cubes)
40gm Icing sugar
1 egg (medium and beaten)
220g plain flour
1/2 tsp Vanilla essence

To prepare;
a) Add in all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix and blend until a smooth dough is formed. *u may use your hands or you may use a food processor/mixer.
b) Put the dough in a cling wrap and let to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
c) Roll out pastry, cut out circles to fit tart mould. *I just pressed the dough into the tart moulds.
d) Prick the base with a fork
d) Bake in oven for 8-10mins at 175deg C.

Filling
250gm Cream Cheese (I used spreadable cream cheese)
3/4 cup Icing Sugar
1 egg (medium and beaten)
1/2 cup Whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla essence
Blueberry filling

Note: You may want to half the filling ingredients or double the pastry dough ingredients because the pastry dough requires more or less 1/2 of the cream cheese filling.

To prepare;
a) Beat cream cheese and beaten egg until well incorporated
b) Add in vanilla essence, sugar and whipping cream. beat until creamy and well blended.
c) Spoon/pipe the mixture into the pre-baked tart shells.
d) Add in the blueberry filling. use a satay skewer/wooden tooth pick to swirl it to create marble effect.
e) Bake tart in oven for 15 mins at 175 deg. C. Remove from the oven to cool a while before serving

Pictures

2. Pre-baked tart shells

*Notice the marble effect

I highly recommend this recipe. its easy to make and dijamin sedap.

New Ride...

... Not ours, but Hamza's

Heh.. We've been searching for the perfect stroller for our little guy eversince i was pregnant. Well, basically we wanted something that could be used for a few years at least. We surveyed high and low for the right one. We even thought of buying it in the UK, since they are alot cheaper there. From day 1, i've always wanted a good one. In other words, i didnt really mind the price. As long as it is within our affordability. We went to this shop in One Utama, Planet Enfante, and saw the Peg Perego, Pliko P3 Travel System. Husband liked it immediately. I liked it too.. But, somehow we were contemplating whether to buy a travel system or to buy just the stroller. In my opinion, we do not use strollers like in the Uk for example. We travel alot by car. So, the strollers will only be used at the malls, and parks. *we dont push our child everywhere do we?? hehehe.. Apart from that, we'll have to invest in carseats later when the child has outgrow his baby carrier. So, we finally decided to make do with a baby sling/carrier and a stroller that can be used from Newborn right up till his big enough to walk on his own.

So, there goes the Pliko P3 Travel system, even we had to pass on its sibling, Mamas and Papas. We bought husband a Chicco baby sling for 15GBP, and it was good enough.. Now that my little one weighs 5kg or even more, his baba thinks that it is time to get him his own ride. *baba xdaya nak carry lama-lama. Sakit belakang? huhu. So yeah, we went high and low looking for the right stroller that suits mine and husband's taste. I've always liked strollers from Mclaren. But i thought, XT was a tad bit too expensive. so, yeah.. we looked around, and we went into the Planet Enfante shop again, and husband spotted the stroller of our dream.

...Peg Perego Si...

Hamza, his new ride and his mobile..

We both loved it immediately, and decided to buy it for Hamza. It is suitable for newborn, it can be reclined, and it looked HOT as well, and its just not common just yet. hahaha. Since we've bought Hamza a car seat, the stroller is just perfect. :) It is lightweight. Not too bulky, and easy to fold. So its all good. Alhamdulillah. Murah rezeki anak. So, yeah.. Now, we are happy to take him out to the mall. Hehehe. We even bought him a pram mobile from playgro. For the price we paid, we are very satisfied and happy

Tupper-news

(1) Microwaveable Rice Cooker & (2) Rice Dispenser

Baru-baru ni, pegi Tupperware. Membeli perkara-perkara yang dikirim oleh kawan-kawan ku. Bila ke Tupperware, xsah la kalau xbeli untuk diri sendiri kan? Since we'll be moving into our own house soon, i decided to buy a microwaveable rice cooker for our house. *kitorang masak nasi dalam microwave. I let my mother use it instead. So, here are the good things about the Tupperware microwaveable Rice Cooker.
  1. It is microwaveable. *definitely la kan. But that is the most important fact.
  2. It can cook 3cup (3pot) of rice without/minimal spillage (usually on the lid only)
  3. It is easy to use. No hassle.
  4. Cooking time, average 15 mins. Ye, kami masak nasi 15 minit shj
  5. It has a lifetime warranty. *terms and conditions apply
The offer is open until 7/11. Since it is a limited release item i am not sure if it will be available next month or after. As for now, it comes free with a tupperware rice scoop. I use it especially when i want to make nasi goreng or when there's only 4 /5 people in the house. Kadang-kadang terkurang masak nasi, so this rice cooker is the best solution. Kalau nak tau lebih, boleh check disini or msg me.

sekian, berita tupperware dari saya.

Senang Hati kerana...

...Saya sudah nappy change, and i am a happy boy!!!

Hamza and his playgym

Yes. I have mentioned earlier that Hamza has a playgym. We bought it at Toys R us warehouse sale and Hamza loves it. at least thats what we think. huhuhu.. We wanted something that could stimulate him to focus (his eyes), grab and kick. as well as to listen to th sounds. It is never too soon to start, right?? Btw, a FP playgym would cost us a few hundred ringgit. Not cheap i tell you. So, we think, this is good enough. It's colourful, and adequate for this little precious of ours. hehehehe. Enjoy!!

All excited in his new Playgym.

mummy.. i think i am done playing.. :)

till then. :)

EID Mubarak!

Salam everyone..

Lama sungguh blog ini xdiupdate. I have been very-very busy looking after this little one. On top of that, the newly-purchased adaptor gave way. menyebabkan i couldnt go online at all. Bodzo betul. Since my brother is away for his umrah, cilok jap PC dia. hehehe.

updates updates**

Ramadhan and Syawal
we are already approaching Syawal in just days.. but before that, Ramadhan Mubarak too everyone.. hhehe.. dah nak raya baru nak wish.. so far i haven't managed to fast.. beranak la, and more importantly because i am breastfeeding. lapar kebulur and dahaga sangat-sangat.. i'll have to ganti 30 hari la lepas nih.xpela, janji hamza sihat n segar all the time ya? This year turn raya kat Terengganu, then maybe to Kuantan... and it'll be our first time raya bertiga.. syukur Alhamdulillah. Baju raya? i bought one baju kurung for myself, husband has got himself a jubah from Macca, and little hamza?? there'll be no baju raya for Hamza coz he's still too small to fit into it.. so, pakai je la tshirts and onesies dia tu..

Hamza
We went for his one month checkup at KK Sg.buloh some 3 weeks ago. it was all good. Hamza weighed 4.5kg at 4 weeks old.(his BW was 3.59kg) and he is now 57cm long (he was 52cm at birth).. Alhamdulillah.. He is growing dengan jayanya and he's getting heavier by the day. Everytime angkat nak feed dia, sure terase Hamza semakin berat. But memang itu yang dikehendaki kan? Maka, kami berasa amatlah bersyukur. Baju-baju newborn pon dah teramat ketat, and he can fit into all his 0-6months clothes. Aih.. i dont know how long can the baju last. Looks like we have to buy baju lagi besar than 0-6.. 6-12 maybe??

Other than that, Hamza started to response to our voices at 3 weeks ++.. especially bila mak dia panggil. Now dah 7 weeks, he smiles whenever we 'agah-agah' him, and dia juga sudah pandai angkat badan nak roll himself sideways.. Cuma yang tertinggal is kaki dia. We went to Toys r us Warehouse sale and bought him a cute play gym, plus the accessories.. And he loves to be in the playgym. *Kaki menendang-nendang dengan jayanya.

And owh, this little boy loves his bathing session.. A nappy change will never fail to make him happy.. Letak je atas changing mat, mula la tersengih-sengih showing of his toothless gum. Cute sangat!! Best ada baby. I can't imagine how things will be once i start to work. haih..

Breastfeeding
Alhamdulillah, i am still breastfeeding him.. no bottle milk given. And i am most grateful to be able to breastfeed my baby.. Kadang-kadang payah sangat.. especially when i need to get some things done.. Asik-asik bergayut.. so, apa-apa hal.. feed hamza dulu, baru buat kerja. at least if he doesnt fall asleep immediately, he would just sit on the bed or in his cot quietly until he gets bored/hungry.. I am now looking at the breastfeeding equipments, like, a cooler bag to store milk, storage container/bottle (more, i need more) and a few other items... but will decide on it slowly...

So, yeah.. Thats about what has happened this past few weeks.. hurmm.. Sila lah lihat gambar Hamza. ENJOY!

tido with A*stro remote in his hand.. Hamza buat ape tu??

Hamza, in his new ride

Till then, Salam.

hamza..updates

Hamza is 3 weeks and 4 days old? or young? what i mean to say is, he's been in this world for 3 weeks and 4 days already. How time flies eh? And my little hero is now a big boy. He doesnt look newborn-ish anymore. Hehehe... It feels great being a mom. Walaupun susah sometimes, but thats the challenge and i am glad, my husband and family supports me all the way...

Talking about challenges of being a mom, there's just too many to mention. I remember when we first brought Hamza home, he was so unsettled. Changes in environment, made him abit restless. So i was most of the time awake rather than asleep. And you know.. Everything is all so new to both of us. It's either u read it up in the net, or ask from those with experience. Dua-dua pon buat. I on the other hand, was struggling with my boobies... i wanted to breastfeed him 100% so badly but i wasnt producing much at that time... It was all colostrum, and i got so depressed.. banyak kali i nangis. tp, actually the that was all that the baby needed pon.. day3, suddenly my boobies became soo engorged. Tried expressing it, failed. nothing came out! i couldn't do anything and it was soo painful. rase macam batu! I applied minyak panas la, mandi in hot shower... nothing helped. Not even Tuam... last2, i letak cabbage on it. The next morning, it felt better. Tapi i still couldnt express it. and hamza couldnt drain the milk well... Husband took all the trouble to 'bersihkan' my nipples kot-kot ada yang sumbat. last sekali i decided to stop trying to express when my colleague told me that i shouldn't start expressing too early... Lepas tu, i started experiencing let-downs yg banyak everytime i feed hamza... So at least i know that i have enough milk for hamza.

Now, Hamza is abit unsettled during the day. He will only sleep for a maximum of 1 hour. He used to sleep for 3 hours... but, now he sleeps longer at night. so, thats a big relief. Cuma its a bit tiring during the day coz all that could calm him down is by 'sumbat' susu... So i will be strapped on the bed/mana2 for a while la... Plus he refused to be put down... Jadi, i really appreciate the times when husband is around. at least i can breathe for a bit, while he looks after our little hero. hehehe..

Anyhoo, I keep reminding myself to always be grateful to the Almighty for all that He's blessed us with... And i am most glad to have such a supporting husband. hurmm.. cant live without him. okay.. bye

company

I had a few friends over just now. They wanted to see Hamza. And they brought with them presents. Alhamdulillah. I am most grateful to Allah. Murah rezeki anak ku. And best of all, i enjoyed their company especially when husband is not around. Bosan sangat! So, at least there's people to cheer my day up.

Hamza is asleep with his neyna. Heheheh.. And its actually time for a nappy change. Xpelah. Wait till his up and crying. huhuh. I love to hear him cry. I love the sound of it. I love my son to bits. I love my little family. Ecewaaaahh.. hihihhi.. By the by, Husband should be on his way home real soon!! *Clap clap clap! yeay!!

Confinement...My way?

Ntahla.. My mother is the type who does not really practice confinement like how most Malays do. No offence really.. She told me to eat what ever that is nutritious for me. Fruits, proteins, etc2. Tapi then again, mengurut, bengkung and all ada.. cuma in terms of pantang makan yang tidak dipraktikkan. So, everyday my mother will cook chicken soup for me... And i'll have whatever sayur that i feel like having... and fruits of course. I dont wear stockings, coz the day is just too warm for me and i hate being sticky... The only thing that my mother told me to really look after is the stitches.. errgh. Okay. So, i don't eat seafood just yet.

Akibat daripada tiada pantang ni, i feel free to do alot of things... In the house that is. And i sleep alot!! i eat alot and i sleep alot! *tp, i feed Hamza alot too you know... And now, i am beginning to feel bored. I enjoy being with my son, watching him sleep, changing his nappy, talking to him everything i shall say. But i am also in dire need to see the world again!!! Aaargh! So last night, Husband took me out to Tesco!!! It felt really good! But, i miss my son so much, the trip lasted only 45 minutes... gedik x? hahahahah.. But anyhow.. at least i got to go see the world kejap.. ahahahaha..

Hamza poops like 7 times in a day. And we've been using too many nappies on him. Banyak duit woooo.. so, we decided to put him on Te*sco brand instead. Its quite reasonable. Tgkla kalau ada rashes, will have to reconsider. hahahaha..

Okay yo. Have a nice day.

Welcome My Son..

I guess, u can by now guess that i have given birth.. Yes.. I have. To a healthy and big baby. And it is a boy. It wasnt all an easy labour. But Alhamdulillah, I am glad, i have passed one of the biggest challenges a woman could ask for.

Chronologically, this was what happened..
20th July 2009, 11.00 pm

After watching House MD, I started experiencing intense contractions. I didnt time my contractions though. But the contraction was not that regular, except that it was intense. I woke up almost every hour because of the very strong pain. Woke up my husband and told him about it. He stroked me back to sleep.

21st July 2009, 6.05 am

I was asleep when my waterbag gave way. Husband screamed in shocked seeing me jumping out of the bed. *dia risau jatuh katil.. hehe.. It was a gush of fluid.. So, yeah.. i know that we'll be seeing our baby really soon. But, thing is.. we haven't actually decided which hospital to go. Yeah, we decided to go to a nearby *pusat bersalin. We thought that was the best decision and the most convenient in terms of distance from home. Told my mother about it, and got ready.

7.30 am
Had baked-beans for breakfast, while husband prepares the car for me. My mother told me not to worry because the amniotic fluid will be replaced from time to time.

9.00 am
Already at the Pusat Bersalin. Went in to see the doctor and she said that i have to be admitted. Yes, and she said they will have to induce me and saying that baby has to come out within 12 hours or there will be a high risk of baby getting infection. Yeah. Checked in, and they gave a shot of enema. I was already starting to experience contractions but it was very mild. Ala-ala Period pain gitu.

Boleh senyum lagi sbb belum induce

1.00 pm
I 'walked' into the labour room. I was quite shocked to see the condition of the labour room, but i said to myself.. We've made the decision.. so yes. they started me on the drip, and i started to experience contractions.. Husband was there to help me with my breathing techniques, and best of all my sole comfort provider.

2.00pm

Doctor came in and VE'ed me.. I was only 4 sentimeters dilated. And she said.. "we have to push u into the OT for a C-Sect. Your baby is not fully engaged, and we cannot wait. Baby will be at risk of lungs infections and its not good etc2.." I said to husband, i dont want to be cut open. This is only my first child. Why can't she let me try for a normal birth? Husband was definitely out of words. My mother came. She didn't look too happy with the situation. I was already crying. I asked husband to call my aunt (she's a gynae) and she said that they can wait for up to 72 hours. The doctor came in many times, asking us to decide. I asked for more time, she wouldnt let me. It was like an ultimatum for me. I hated it!! I asked husband to call the hospital through my boss to see what will the hospital do for cases like mine. After much considerations, I said to my mother, I want to be transferred out to Hospital Sungai Buloh.

5.30pm

Left the PUsat Bersalin, and still having contractions. 5 minutes apart. husband drove like mad.

630pm
Already being assessed by a specialist. She said, baby was already fully engaged. position wise, normal (doctor tadi cakap, baby buat face presentation), and i am still 4cm dilated. *maybe sebab stress.. They said they'll continue with oxytocin and will see me again in 4 hours time. I was praying hard that i'll be able to deliver within that 4 hours.

730pm
VE'ed me again. Still 4 cm. It was stressful to know that i havent really progressed from 4cm.. this time around, husband couldnt be with me in the labour room. Its the hospital's policy we have to abide to. But i still bargained for my husband. But all attempts failed. I cried really bad. Macam orang meroyan pon ada..

800pm
They increased the oxytocin dose, running at 12mls/hr!!!! Contraction got worse!! it was just super intense!! I took a dose or 2 of the laughing gas from time to time.. but obviously it didn't help at all. Then, i decided to have Pethidine! but they were so slow! they said they had to monitor the baby first. Ok, i waited for 15 minutes, and still no sign of nurses wanting to give me pethidine jab. after a good 30 minutes, i was already screaming for it. hahahha.. tapi, memang sakit gila!!!

930pm
the specialist came in to assess me. Contractions was beyond imagination already!! i was in soo much pain! unbearable. I dozed off from time to time due to the effect of pethidine, but, the pain was still there. So i called for the specialist. I said to her " can i go to the toilet? i think i need a hot shower" she was shocked, and VEed me, only to find out.. i was already 8cm dilated. She said "you'll stay on the bed, and we will call for your husband. Dah x lama dah ni" And my husband came in! aaaaahh.. i cried immediately.. Sakit ok! He couldnt help me with my breathing techniques anymore.. sbb dah kerap sangat and everytime the contraction comes, its just Super INTENSE!!!

1045 pm
I started to realise that i wasnt "menahan" sakit anymore.. But i was already starting to push to kill the pain. So i said, call them in. I think i am ready! And they came in and yes.. I was already fully dilated and baby dah entered the birth canal. Not long after that, i started to push!! 1108 pm, the cute little entered the world.. Lega.. Hilang semua sakit! Alhamdulillah. as soon as they handed the baby to me, Husband took him and Azan kan baby.. I cried. Xpercaya..

Now, presenting my little Hero.. His name will be announced on the after day 7 of birth.

His 1st Hour.. Our son..

We are most Grateful to the Almighty for this little gift here. Alhamdulillah, he's a healthy boy. My family love him to bits. Including all the aunties, atuks and neneks, and great grandparents.. My inlaws pon came all the way from Terengganu to see their new cucu. hehehe.. Syukur alhamdulillah.. Ramai yang visit bagi cash.. so we'll open a savings account for him really soon. And best of all, I am most grateful to Allah that we decided to pindah to Hospital Sungai Buloh.. Coz i got to experience normal birth instead of being operated on. Syukur..

okay, till then.

Kenapa dia xnak dengar???!!!!

I really have a problem with people who does not know how to take NO for an answer!! Aku tau la patient tgh critical.. But, again.. it is not solely our fault that i couldnt supply the bloody noradrenaline. I did, but i know it was not enough.. Ye la.. ICU la kata kan... haihhh.. the last time we faced the same problem, i forwarded the matter to 'the sister'. But nothing was done. Dia tu Boss.. aku ni pekerja saje. dak?? Pastu, coz there was no solution from her part, i took the easiest way out. Marah.. Sian staff nurses tu.. And i guess they too couldnt handle the stress, so they complained back to the doctors. and i was attacked by 'the sister'. Dem U!!! Fine, but because not one freaking human being in the freaking department yg pangkat lagi tinggi dari aku could provide with a bloody solution, sape yg xstress!!!

So, this time around, 'the sister' was not around. I took matters into my own hands and called up the specialist. I explained to her the situation. But i did assured her that we'll be getting some more supplies early next week. She was okay, showed some level of wanting to cooperate with me. Tiba-tiba.. ada orang went down and asked another colleague on who told this doc about the ubat blablabla.. and my colleague called me to inform me about it. When i was about to leave hospital for home, i received an sms 'the sister' saying that the ubat is ONLY for NICU and ICU. Whatever la kan??!! habis, kalau ada patient collapse kat ward, xkan nak biar mati??!! eeee.. double standard!! menyampah!!!! so, i immediately called 'the sister'.

explained what happened etc2.. only to find out someone had actually informed her about the problem. And, U guess????!!! she Freaking yelled at me!! Blaming all the other people kecuali, diri dia, diri ini dan ICU!!! WTF?? she went...

the sister: why did the news come from you, and not from the store??!!!
me: because i find it easier since i am the one who supplies daily meds to the ICU. Is it wrong??
the sister: Xdela. Nampak sangat orang store xbuat kerja. Dah tau stock low kenapa xnak cari before stock habis??
me: yes, but i have been communicating with Th***s about this. and he's been helping me out. we've been calling....
the sister: i'm not talking about you.. i am talking about orang store yg xreti buat kerja!
me: no, thats not true.. (sape kate orang store xbuat kerja?)stress...
the sister: blablablabal*already yelling

and she hung up! Dem YOU!!!!!!

Gilo!!! Kenapa la dia xnak mendengar? and why keep blaming other people when she couldnt even listen for 1 bloody second? i was not trying to protect my dear colleague, but the accusation was just too kurang ajar!! i couldnt take it!! aku pon same marah, so, i too didnt want to listen to her cause i think she's gotten it all wrong! She wasnt even there when the problem occured. and she wasnt even there to help solve the problem. Yang dia tau, MARAH!!! macam singa betina!!! Aku stress sangat-sangat!!!!

Sebagai pegawai yang bawah dia, xpernah la aku dapat solution daripada dia when a problem occur. Sampai kena bergaduh2 dulu, baru la ada boss yang nak ambil tindakan!! BODOHNYAAAA!!! aku stress.. dah, i need to go pray! Stress.. kang beranak pulak!!

I accidentally...

....CRIED....

What happened ey? We've just finished watching CSI. I was bored and i couldnt sleep.. So i browsed through the channels and.. Ahah! 413 was playing the movie P.S. I love you.. I've watched it once during one of my nightshifts at the ED. I cried throughout. Luckily, i sat near a tissue dispenser. So tissues were reachable.. and there were not so many patients. So, yeah.. this time, i was pretty much excited to watch it AGAIN.. although it was already halfway through.. I thought i could just holdback my tears this time around.. heheh.. tp, i cried again..

I find the movie very-very real. I mean, i couldnt imagine having to lose someone i deeply love. and I believe that moving on with life, after love is not easy. Ramai yang xsuka H.Swank's acting. Just cause she's not that cantik.. But for me, she carried the character soo well, and so effectively. I was so moved watching it. I love the songs in the movie as well!! to bits.. hehehe..

aaaa.. so cute!!!

heart melts..

haih.. harap-harap ada lagi malam ni.. :)
