the significance of pestle and mortar

the tradition of us...

well.. as u can see.. there's a pestle and mortar up there in the pic.. and 2 bottles with labels on it, and also that BIG Rx over there.. this is purely a sign of the world of pharmacy.. in the older days, the druggists or pharmacists or chemists [which ever that feels right to you] uses pestle and mortar to make a formulation [ubat la].. even today, we still use it.. mmg concept batu lesung pun.. buat la cream ke, suspension, syrup, elixir, even capsule filling, we still use the pestle and mortar.. we only use it in the labs.. kat industries dah sophisticated instrument.. even in hospitals.. they dont really process it in the hospital.. stakat buat dilution je.. but then again it also depend on the type of drugs.. such as, anti-cancer drugs.. in UM, they process the drug in a sterile lab.. hurmm.. lab tu mmg cun lah.. it is also custom-made.. so, anyways.. the pestle and mortar have indeed become a significant symbol to the pharmaceutical field.. the tradition will not be forgotten as the knowledge will definitely be passed down from generation to generation.. walaupon its just a pestle and mortar.. jgnla pandang serong.. sbb bende itu lah yg telah banyak menghasilkan ubat-ubatan untuk memulihkan kebanyakan pesakit.. cheers!
