I have never been to Sabah.. ever.. So, during my confinement days, my colleague called up asking me if i want to go to Kota Kinabalu to attend a Conference on Rural Medicine. She told me, another colleague turned down the offer. Only to find out that, the participants will be taken to Kudat on the 3rd day of the conference. I hesitated initially, but after discussing with husband, I said yes. The condition is, I will have to bring husband and Hamza along with me. *No way i'm going to leave my baby (babies) behind. huhuhu..
2 and a half month later, we finally set our foot in Kota Kinabalu. Flight was good. *we flew by MAS. I was quite worried about Hamza. But, Alhamdulillah he was very well-behaved throughout our journey. We stayed in *Courtyard Hotel, 1Borneo. Its a good 30 mins drive from the town. But the good thing about it was, the hotel was just 5 mins drive to and fro UMS. The conference, it was a 3 day conference. No, 2 actually. The third day, UMS took us to their Rurak Medicine Education Center in Kudat. Fuuh, It was an amazing journey for us.
Kudat is only 100++ km from UMS. *according to Husband's GPS. But, it took us 3 and a half hours to reach Kudat! If in KL, it'd only take u what? 45 mins to an hour or so? The road was not so good and small. Sian sangat. But I am not complaining really because Hamza was such an angel! He is such a good boy. He didn't complain at all. They took us to the RMEC for closing ceremony and some prize giving. They fed us lunch and packed us with some food before we left for a few other places after that. Baik sangat. They took us to a Longhouse. It was more or less a demonstration about how they reach to these people in the rural area. Then, they took us to Bavanggazo Cultural Village. We were treated with a traditional dance of the People of Rungus. I bought some 'manik-manik' keychains. The rest were just too expensive. yeah.
Later, we went to the Tip of Borneo. Beautiful. Subhanallah. Its the meeting of two seas, the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. They said that there's a line. In other words, the two seas does not mix. But we arrived nearing sunset. So I couldn't actually find the 'line'. Husband did. Took some photos, ate some icecreams, and then we headed back to Kota Kinabalu. We were all so exhausted from the journey. But i enjoyed every bit of it. So did Hamza and his baba. It was basically our first Holiday as a three! huhu.
I enjoyed the hospitality of the Sabahans. Very nice and kind. The School of Medicine UMS, they were so kind, to help arrange a van to send me back to the Hotel so that I could feed my son. Baik kan? yes. And best of all, All my love for my dear husband for helping me look after Hamza. Thank you abang for everything. I know, it is both our duty to look after our child. But, he was so positive throughout the conference. And i know he loves his son so much, dia bawak Hamza jalan-jalan. Very attentive and kind and loving. aaaah. And Hamza too. Such a good sport. sikit pon tak berdecit. good boy! Mama and Baba loves you so much!!
Eventhough we didn't get to jalan-jalan in KK, but i am glad we went. Next time, we'll know where to stay and how to get about in KK. We'll definitely come again, kan Abang? huhu.. I have to pen off now. Enjoy the pictures.
